An Empty Analysis Mirrors Vietnamese Youth Football’s Data Gap

A sports assessment with nine sections, comparison tables and a risk framework just landed on my desk. When I opened it, every cell said the same thing: insufficient information. No tournament name, no player, no tactics, no numbers. For someone who works in football, that is not a failed report. It is a signal worth reading. My job has taught me that rough gems are never lying on the pitch. They sit in the dust people forget. But to find a gem, you need a map. This report had no map, only a coordinate grid. Sending a story without a subject through a nine-layer assessment is like asking a goalkeeper to save a ball that does not exist. Good technique means nothing without a ball. I once sat on a Beijing artificial turf pitch counting the breathing rhythm of a 16-year-old midfielder, but I could do that only because I knew his team, his opponent and the competition.
